ULEND was purchased by us in Jun 2002 from Jan Bonner, whom had done an excellent job raising him from 4 months until he was 3 years old.

ULEND is a 7 year old grey Norwegian Fjord Horse stallion of exceptional character and build. He was originally evaluated as a 2 year old and received a red ribbon in his conformation test. As a 4 year old, he had significantly matured and received a blue ribbon in his conformation test at the 2003 Fjord evaluations in Ohio. In 2004, Ulend received a second level silver medallion at the La Crosse evaluations for his performance tests in Intro English Riding and Intro Driving. In 2007, he received a red ribbon in advance driving and received a fourth level gold medallion at the Herndon evaluations.

ULEND is 14.1 hands high and weighs about 1200 pounds with 9 inch cannons. He is more of the draft type Fjord Horse, but is very proportional and correct. Ulend has outstanding primitive markings that he passes on to his get. He has excellent disposition. Ulend enjoys visitors in his stall at expos and demonstrations, but also enjoys showing-off his excellent movement in the arena.

ULEND has always placed well in his halter classes. At the 2005 NFHA Show, Ulend was Grand Champion Halter Horse. He is trained to ride, drive and draft. At the 2004 Ontario Fjord Show, Ulend was Green Driving Horse Champion and Reserve Champion Stallion. At the 25th Anniversary show, Ulend was 5th out of 13 stallions in the 4 years and older stallion class.

In June 2005, Solvar and Ulend were driven by Marsha in their first Combined Driving Event (CDE). They place first in the Training Level Pony Pairs Division for the Elk Creek CDE at Fair Hill, MD.

In 2007, Ulend will continue working and showing with Solvar at the Elk Creek CDE in June. Ulend already has several mares booked for breeding this year. Ulend was be at the Pennsylvania Horse World Expo in Harrisburg, PA in February, and the Fjord Breed Weekend Demonstrations at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY in October.
